WKF and EKF President Antonio Espinós today welcomed EKF Secretary General Davor Cipek to the WKF Headquarters in Madrid to discuss upcoming Karate events in Europe.
Mr Cipek who is also the President of the Croatian Karate Union (CKU) was accompanied by the head CKU’s local organising committee Goran Sprem. WKF CEO Sara Wolff and WKF Senior Advisor Francisco Alegrete also participated in the meeting.
The celebration of the forthcoming European Senior Championships to be held in Gaziantep, Turkey from May 25 to 29 was on top of the agenda.
In addition to the clash for the medals, the tournament in Gaziantep will have tremendous relevance for European Karate, as the Congress of the continental governing body will also be held in the Turkish city.
After the meeting WKF and EKF President said:
“At today’s meeting, we were able to discuss the recent developments in Karate in Europe, as well as the preparation for the several anticipated international events to be held in the continent this year, particularly the next EKF Senior Championships in Gaziantep.
“We reviewed the many opportunities ahead of us in the coming months. We agreed on ways to ensure that the EKF continues setting the pace of the development of Karate around the world.”
