Small States of Europe Federation sets eyes on further developing Karate at upcoming events

EKF and WKF President Antonio Espinós headed the meeting of the Small States of Europe Karate Federation (SSEKF) which was held Saturday in Larnaca (Cyprus).

Chaired by SSEKF President Andreas Vasileiou and with EKF Secretary General Davor Cipek and the members of the organization in attendance, the meeting took place in Larnaca during the 2023 EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships.

The situation of the organization and the preparation of the upcoming 2023 Small States of Europe Karate Championships to be held in Luxemburg in September were among the main points of the agenda.

Additionally, the participation of Karate in the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe was also analysed. It was decided that the TC Chairman of the SSEKF will elaborate a development project to maximize the opportunities at the 2025 Games. This project will be distributed among the SSEKF National Federations members before the EKF Senior Championships in Guadalajara (Spain) where a new meeting of the organization will take place to continue the progress of the works ahead of the anticipated event.

EKF and WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

“As the popularity of Karate continues growing in all the countries in Europe, it is of the utmost importance to highlight our strength at events such as the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe. I am convinced that our sport will have a tremendous impact at the event in Andorra, and for that, I want to thank all the members of the SSEKF and its President Andreas Vasileiou for their hard work towards the progress of Karate.”
