The 2024 EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships will be held in Tbilisi (Georgia) from February 9 to 11. The most promising young Karate athletes in Europe will gather for the first time in Georgia to clash for the continental crowns.
WHAT
- The 2024 EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships are the biggest age-group event in Europe.
- The tournament follows the successful editions in Larnaca (Cyprus) in 2023 and Prague (Czech Republic) in 2022.
- The powerhouse nation of Spain topped the medal table of the last edition in Cyprus with 13 medals, including six golds. Italy and Ukraine also registered deserving performances with 17 medals and 5 golds and 8 medals and 4 golds, respectively.
WHERE
- The tournament takes place in Tbilisi (Georgia)
- The event is held at the New Sports Palace in the Georgian capital.
- It is the first time that Georgia hosts a major international Karate event.
WHEN
- The event is scheduled from February 9 to 11.
- The competition starts on Friday, February 9 at 9:00 (local time GMT+4) with the Individual Kata categories. The Cadet Kumite divisions are scheduled for Friday afternoon, while the first day of the competition will conclude with the Opening ceremony.
- The second day of action will comprise the Junior and U21 Kumite categories.
- All the finals are slated for Sunday, February 11.

- Over 1160 athletes from 49 countries have registered to take part in the event.
- This number of competitors extends the participation record of the event, a testament to the popularity of Karate in Europe.
