New EKF Para-Karate Commission Chair Eliza Gawel Visits WKF Headquarters in Madrid

Eliza Gawel, newly appointed Chair of the European Karate Federation (EKF) Para-Karate Commission, visited the headquarters of the World Karate Federation (WKF) in Madrid this week. She was welcomed at the WKF headquarters by EKF President Antonio Espinós.

Gawel was officially confirmed in her new role by the EKF Executive Committee after the recent EKF Senior Championships held in Yerevan, Armenia. Her visit to Madrid marks the beginning of her active leadership in shaping the future of Para-Karate in Europe.

The meeting focused on reviewing the current status of Para-Karate across the continent, with EKF President Antonio Espinós and WKF CEO Sara Wolff in attendance. Key topics included strengthening support for Para-Karate athletes and preparing for the next events scheduled to take place in Europe.

Mr Espinós said after the meeting:

“We are thankful to Mrs. Gawel for visiting our headquarters in Madrid and for taking on the responsibility of leading the EKF Para-Karate Commission. The growth of Para-Karate is essential to the development of Karate in Europe. It represents one of the most meaningful ways our sport contributes to society, and we are confident that under her leadership, Para-Karate will continue to thrive.”

The WKF and EKF reaffirm their commitment to supporting Para-Karate and celebrating the strength, resilience, and talent of all Para-Karatekas in Europe and around the world.
