2025 Mediterranean Karate Championships Set to Begin in Guadalajara, Spain

Guadalajara, Spain is set to welcome the 2025 Mediterranean Karate Championships, bringing together over 500 athletes from 16 countries for three days of top-level competition. The event will showcase the strength of karate across the Mediterranean region, highlighting both established champions and rising talents.

The championships will feature a full program, including cadet, junior, senior, and para-karate divisions. In addition, beach karate will also return, offering fans a different way to experience the sport.

This year’s edition follows the successful tournament in Olbia, Italy, where more than 400 athletes from 18 nations competed. In that event, the hosts Italy dominated the medal table with 26 golds, followed by Spain and Greece.

Guadalajara is no stranger to high-level karate competition. The city has built a reputation as a major hub for the sport, regularly hosting important events. This year, the city in central Spain hosted the Karate 1-Youth League and served as the venue for the 2023 and 2019 editions of the European Karate Federation Senior Championships.

The Mediterranean Karate Championships offer a key opportunity for athletes to gain experience in a highly competitive environment while strengthening ties among karate communities in the region.
