The Executive Committee of the European Karate Federation (EKF) met in Paris, France, coinciding with the 2025 World Championships Qualification Tournament. The session, chaired by EKF and World Karate Federation (WKF) President Antonio Espinós, was conducted in a hybrid format, with most of its members attending in person and others joining via video conference.
The main focus of the meeting was to review the current state of karate across Europe and to address the challenges facing the sport in the coming months. Committee members discussed key strategic initiatives aimed at ensuring continued growth and good governance within national federations.
President Antonio Espinós said:
“I would like to thank all members of the Executive Committee for their efforts and commitment to ensuring that karate in Europe continues to move forward. All 54 member federations of the EKF must do their utmost to comply with the standards of governance and the values that have always characterised our organisation. As European karate moves united in the same direction, I am confident we will continue taking our federation to new levels of excellence. It’s our core purpose to continue strengthening karate’s position across the continent through collaboration, innovation, and respect for the sport’s traditions. I want to thank all of you for remaining committed to the organisation’s mission of promoting karate as a disciplined, inclusive, and forward-looking sport.”
