WKF President Antonio Espinós welcomed the head of the Ukrainian Karate Federation Ivan Dutchak to the headquarters of the World Karate Federation in Madrid (Spain).
The situation of Karate in Europe and the participation of Ukrainian athletes at the upcoming major events of the sport were among the main points of the agenda.
International Karate is heading to celebrate the anticipated 2023 EKF Senior Karate Championships, to be held in Guadalajara (Spain) from March 22 to 26, with Ukrainian karatekas aiming to compete for the medals.
After the meeting, WKF and EKF President Antonio Espinós said:
“I was pleased to meet with President Dutchak today in Madrid. I was delighted to have the opportunity to congratulate him and the Ukrainian Karate family for their efforts to continue competing at the highest level despite the current challenging circumstances. The participation records and the impressive results of Ukrainian athletes in our major events lately are highly remarkable and admirable. For this, the Ukrainian Karate community deserves all the praise and recognition from the Karate family in Europe and all over the world. We hope to continue witnessing Ukrainian karatekas taking part in our events.”
