The Executive Committee of the European Karate Federation (EKF) held an crucial meeting in Yerevan, Armenia, ahead of the 2025 EKF Senior Championships. The gathering took place as the Armenian capital prepares to host the biggest karate event on the continent this week.
The meeting was led by EKF and World Karate Federation (WKF) President Antonio Espinós, alongside Vazgen Harutyunyan, President of the Armenian Karate Federation. Both leaders welcomed the committee members and opened the session by underlining the significance of this year’s event for European karate.
On the agenda was a detailed review of the current state of karate across Europe. With the Senior Championships about to start, the committee took the opportunity to assess the latest developments in the sport. Updates on the organisation of the championships in Yerevan were presented, along with reports from EKF’s various commissions.
Another key point discussed was the final preparation for the EKF Congress, scheduled to take place later today. The Congress will bring together representatives from European National Federations to address future plans and decisions for the sport in the continent.
